phpGedView Added to Site

I spent yesterday afternoon and evening working on a way to bring better viewing of records onto the site. I found a PHP program off of sourceforge that looked promising – called phpGedView. In short, I love the program. It is free, for one, but it does what it needs to do very quickly and easily. One of the best features is the ease of updating the online database. When, I’m done updating my files offline, all I have to do now is export my data as a GEDCOM file and upload it to the site. No more upload over 2000 files at a time.

It has been tested over my cable connection at home and also tested via a dial-up connection and the speed is great. Pedigree charts pop right up. So, if you visit the site, go on and dig in. As of today, the only way to access the phpGedView page is off of the main page. I am going to be redoing the site navigation later to add it and remove the old News & Info button – outdated material in there now that can be lost.

As always, comments and/or suggestins are most welcome for ways to improve the site and the information contained therein. Peace, out.
