Happy New Year to those of you who visit Saurette.com. It is hard to believe that this February marks the 5th anniversary of having Saurette.com on the internet. The site has grown and changed, but then again, so has the database. I’ll have to think of an appropriate way to mark the five years.
So, in the spirit of the new year, I finally decided to update all my reports on the site. Most of them are not really all that changed, but I have made changes in the database as far as place names go, as well as adding dates and whatnot from the Drouin. Most of you won’t even care, but I feel better knowing that all the reports are now up to do for 2009.
I have been continuing to add lots of people to the database – some as research for others, but some just because I wanted to. The Leduc surname has seen an increase lately (and will grow larger soon). Other information is added as I get it from visitors. Remember, if you would like your information added, please have some sort of source for me, so that I can add it to my database. For the most part, I am no longer taking information just based on somebody’s say so. There are, of course, exceptions, but I will take it on a case by case basis.
The new database on the site, TNG, is getting some use, but not a lot. phpGedView continues to top the charts. I think Google just does a different job indexing the different databases. I have done all I can on my end to help bring people here, but it seems that Retrospect is a distant second as far as landing pages goes. My hope is that once you land here, that you will explore the other programs I use to show the genealogy data. They all have good aspects to them.
I am going to continue doing data input as time permits and hopefully get back to the Drouin images section of the site soon as well. Until next time, enjoy the site and, as always, drop me an e-mail for information, comments and suggestions.

I empathize with you – I’ve been building mine for over a decade and I recently overhauled all the locations. Quite a lot of decision-making and very tedious up-dating!
